Thinking of taking a jog but the weather’s not cooperating? Don’t let the cooler temperatures keep you from staying active. Instead, participate in an indoor sport to meet your fitness goals, even when it’s cold and dark outside. Here are three of our favorite Romeoville sports centers. You’ll love what they have to offer!
Hockey at Canlan Ice Sports
Year-round, Canlan Ice Sports offers Romeoville residents several options to get on the ice. For those interested in learning how to play hockey, Adult Hockey Academy offers beginner and intermediate hockey skating classes. After you’ve learned the basics, you can join the Adult Instructional League (AIL). This beginners’ league lets new players enjoy regulation games in a safe and judgment-free environment. Players also learn varied game strategies and positional plays during this time.
When the players become more comfortable, they can transition to the Adult Safe Hockey League (ASHL). There, they can train to play in the ASHL National Championship. In 2020, the championship will be held in Toronto.
If, however, slamming into other players on a slippery surface doesn’t sound like an ideal evening activity, check out the Free Skate sessions. For a few hours each day, you can enter the rink for just $8.00. Don’t have skates? No problem. Skate rental is only $3.00/pair at this facility.
Mistwood Golf Dome
No matter the weather conditions, you can still spend a day playing golf. The Mistwood Golf Dome offers avid golfers and amateurs alike a twist on the classic golfing experience. Inside the 60,000-square-foot heated dome, you can practice your swings or participate in a virtual golf experience with friends.
Mistwood also features a full-service sports bar and kitchen, so you can eat and drink between rounds. McWethy’s Sports Bar offers award-winning jumbo wings, prime steak burgers, and pub-style fish & chips.
Want to play a game at Chicagoland’s premier indoor golf range? The Mistwood Golf Dome is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on the weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Grab some friends and head to Bowlero Romeoville to enjoy an evening of fun, food, and physical activity. This venue offers 48 bowling lanes, game arcades, billiards, and laser tag. Bowlero is known as one of Chicagoland’s ritziest, coolest bowling alleys. You can also get great deals here several days of the week.
On “$2.88 Tuesdays,” for example, you can bowl for just $2.88 per game. Also, the Long Island iced teas, tacos, and Tall Boys only cost $2.88 each on Tuesdays. If you’re looking to expand your social circle, consider joining Bowlero’s leagues and social clubs. Check the upcoming schedule to find a group to join.
And, if all that activity is making you hungry, check out the mouthwatering menu. You’ll find binge-worthy wings, veggie spring rolls, and the signature six-pound “Behemoth Burger.”
All in all, these Romeoville sports centers provide plenty of fun for everyone. If you’d like to live near these amazing venues, we invite you to make Highpoint Community Apartments your new home.
