What’s next? A healthy breakfast! It’s no secret that starting the day with a nutritious breakfast is key to setting the tone for the rest of your day. It’s not easy to fit breakfast into an already jam-packed morning, but there are options for a healthy breakfast on the go. More importantly, they taste great!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Bananas provide potassium, an important vitamin, while peanut butter provides protein, and milled flax provides fiber. Plus, this smoothie tastes like a milkshake!

For one serving you’ll need:

1 Banana

1 scoop chocolate protein powder of your choice

1 heaping tablespoon of all natural peanut butter

1 tablespoon milled flax-seed

1 tablespoon instant coffee (optional)

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 ounces of water

3 to 4 ice cubes

Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Avocado Toast

Avocados are considered a super food for a reason. They provide heart healthy fats, and are a great source of fiber and a multitude of vitamins. You may not think avocado when you think of breakfast, but they are a delicious way to get a healthy start in the morning!

For one serving you’ll need:

1 avocado

2 slices whole wheat bread

sea salt

grated parmesan cheese

While the bread is toasting, slice the avocado in half, scoop out the flesh, and mash. When the bread is toasted, spread half of the avocado on each slice, sprinkle with a bit of sea salt and parmesan cheese.
