As a pet owner, you likely know that there are particular foods that should not be shared with your dog. But there are also a lot of foods that are safe for you to feed your dog. Make note of the following pet-friendly “people” foods.
- Yogurt is a good option that provides protein and calcium. Opt for one that does not contain sugar but does contain live bacteria. If your pet is overweight, choose a fat-free option.
- Flax seeds provide omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your pup’s hair and skin. If you buy them in whole seeds, it is best to grind them just before serving.
- Salmon is also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. These fats are also beneficial to your pet’s immune system. Cook the fish before serving, or opt for salmon oil rather than the actual fish.
- Eggs provide riboflavin, selenium, and protein. Give your dog a cooked whole egg. Do not serve it raw. Eggs can also be served as a treat.
